Things we love about JR: He's CRAZY for bubble baths!

A few weeks ago I put some of my body wash in the tub and let JR have a real, full blown bubble bath. He totally loved it of course!

So then I bought a big bottle of Cars bubble bath and now he always asks for "cars, bubbles?" when he takes a bath.

Lately he has been laying down on his tummy during bath time and has even been putting his face, mostly just his chin and mouth, in the water. This is awesome because for whatever reason he started being afraid of laying back in the water last year. So I can't even lay him down to wash his hair, I have to dump water over him, which really makes him equally as mad. So this is good progress and makes me hopeful that swimming lessons this summer might not be so bad.

OK, now for the pictures Jared will be mad that I published. He hates that I have blackmail photos of JR in the bath. But his bum is so cute!

Things we love about JR: I can do it all by myself!

JR loves hims some mandarin oranges. His new thing is getting one out of the fridge whenever I open the door. When it comes to eating he likes to do things on his his own and now it has come down to not even letting me peel the orange. He does just fine peeling it on his own, the problem is that the peel often ends up on the floor. We are working on giving the peel to mommy or putting it in the trash.

He is doing pretty good minus the fact that it takes him forever and he tries to run around the house while doing it sometimes.

Things we love about JR: Chillaxin on the couch

It's been a while. I think I have been pretty good about blogging in the short couple of months that I have been doing it. My goal is to post at least once a week and I think my average has been a little higher than that but I kind of fell off the wagon on this blog. It has been 15 days since my last post. We have been busy enough that I haven't posted plus the things we have been up too have not been exciting enough to post about.

Really most of the posts on this blog are about JR anyway because it is a family blog and he is what we are all about, so here ya go!

The other day I gave JR a bath at the end of the morning and I wanted to keep him up a little longer so his hair could dry. It gets crazy when he sleeps anyway but if it is wet when he goes to bed there is no hope for it. So after I had dressed him I put in his favorite Elmo DVD and set him on the couch. He LOVES snuggling up in his fleece blankets with his sippy while watching his shows. I looked over to see this...

Not five minutes later I checked on him and saw this...

He was passed out cold and he NEVER falls asleep like that. He hardly even falls asleep on the car ride home from places late at night anymore. It was too cute.

A couple of days later JR found a Hastings bag that had the DVD "Kicking and Screaming" and he kept bringing it to me and saying "please" so finally I popped it in. He got all giggly and grabbed his blanket and sippy and settled in on the couch.

It cracks me up the way he puts his hands behind his head like that. He does it all the time in the car.

So finally, another sleeping position for you. I found JR like this on Thursday morning...

Things we love about JR: Sleeping Positions

I have always been a stomach sleeper for the most part and when I was pregnant with JR I slept on my stomach until about seven and a half months until I really couldn't stand it any more.

When we first brought JR home from the hospital he really wouldn't sleep except for in my arms or on the bed with me. Jared worked nights at that point so he wasn't really around to get up every two hours or less to help with Mr. I refuse to sleep.

Finally one day when my mom was babysitting him (I think he was about three or four months old) he fell asleep on her and she laid him down on his tummy and he slept for a miraculous four hours or so!

As it turns out, JR is just a stomach sleeper like mommy! I don't care what anyone says about how you should or should not position your baby when they sleep, do what works for you! For JR, he sleeps on his tummy and without crib bumpers he would be getting stuck all the time.

I love when I come into his room and he is sleeping, too bad I couldn't catch my favorite position on camera, the "on my stomach, head face down, arms to the side, rear end up in the air with knees tucked under" position.
