Things we love about JR: He's CRAZY for bubble baths!

A few weeks ago I put some of my body wash in the tub and let JR have a real, full blown bubble bath. He totally loved it of course!

So then I bought a big bottle of Cars bubble bath and now he always asks for "cars, bubbles?" when he takes a bath.
Lately he has been laying down on his tummy during bath time and has even been putting his face, mostly just his chin and mouth, in the water. This is awesome because for whatever reason he started being afraid of laying back in the water last year. So I can't even lay him down to wash his hair, I have to dump water over him, which really makes him equally as mad. So this is good progress and makes me hopeful that swimming lessons this summer might not be so bad.
OK, now for the pictures Jared will be mad that I published. He hates that I have blackmail photos of JR in the bath. But his bum is so cute!

Grandpa turns 82!

My grandfather turned 82 this week and Jared, JR and I all headed out to Homedale along with my parent's and sister this Sunday to celebrate. We practiced singing 'Happy Birthday' with JR before we went out and he did a pretty good job. But then when we got out there, oh boy did he sing it with gusto! It was so cute but of course none of us was able to get it on video. Typical.

Anywho, we did awesome stuff between when we could get Grandpa off the dance floor (he just loves shufflin' to the 'Party Rock' song) like take pictures of our webbed toes.
Me and Grandpa...

Me, Grandpa, Mercedes...

Then Grandpa and I had a little photo op. All the Homedale paparazzi were dying to get a shot of us together. We stayed separate on the red carpet but did pose for one picture once inside the VIP lounge.

All I have to say is that it was a pretty wild celebration, wish you all could have been there. Party of the century pretty much.

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Slices of Life: Christmas

Christmas was a little different this year. Jared had to work on Christmas day, my brother and sister-in-law were out of town and our typical routine and activities didn't happen as usual. So here are just a couple of "slices" of our Christmas this year rather then a lengthy blog post.
If JR looks really upset in some of these pictures it's because he was. His schedule was totally off and we had to wake him up to do presents. It was kind of comical actually.

5 'clock shadow

So I guess I have been kind of absent on the blog as of late. But let's face it, our lives are not that exciting. Anyway, I will try to fix that and be better about blogging this summer and post lots of cute pictures of JR, which is the only reason anyone reads this at all.

So lets get to the main event: JR's first shave!

The other day Jared was starting to shave and JR was standing in the bathroom watching him with fascination so Jared decided he would teach JR how to shave.

Lathering up...

 A little resistance...

Finally, no more stuble!

I think he mostly wanted to splash in the water. He was eyeing it the whole time...

Daddy even gave JR a little Axe spritz when all was said and done...

What a stylin' little dude!
Pictures from the park to come soon, I promise!

The Park with the Parkes

This afternoon it was so sunny and nice I decided that I couldn't deny JR the chance to get out and play because being outside is his most favorite thing in the world! I called up the family and the Parke's were able to join us. Sadly it was a bit windy and not as sunny when we went but JR still had a blast running around after his bigger cousins!

Jared and the boys tossing the football around...

I was trying to get a picture sequence going showing JR trying to run back and forth between the boys depending on who had the ball and when Zylan saw the camera he ran up to JR for the picture! What a couple of cuties!

There was a random jump rope lying around that the boys were playing with and Jared kept telling us how awesome he was at jump rope in high school when he was in his football fitness class. We made some "Uncle Rico" cracks and jokingly challenged him to show off his skillz and he actually got up and did it! And with a children's sized rope even!

I can't even describe how much I love this picture!

I am in a weird mood.

I am in a weird mood. My thoughts are totally random and I can't seem to get organized so I am going to post about two things at once.

1. My mom was in the hospital for the better part of this week so we went to see her on Thursday night. There is a visiting room with lots of seating where we could close the door and keep JR contained. He was happy because he could reach the light switch and spent his time turning the lights on and off and pounding on the window. So silly.

2. Our house is riddled with disease. JR has had the sniffles for a while but has come down with another full on feverish, runny-nosed, coughing-fits, no good cold! The downside is that he hardly eats when he is sick and gets easily frustrated. The upside is we get to have frequent cuddle battles...

The other disease plauging our house is ringworm. Yup, Jared has ringworm. Apparantly he has had it for a while, he was just washing it really well and it was teeny-tiny small, but then he scratched it and irritated it and now it is about the size of a nickle. I think he didn't want to show me because I am a monkey and I love to pick at stuff but *shudder* I can hardly stand to look at his leg!

Nasty I know!

Ok, that is all. Don't come to the Loveland house because you will probably walk away with lepracy or something freaky!

The good news and the bad news

The good news is that D-Con really works. The mice in my house are dying.

The bad news is that they are dying under my couch. Can they really not go in the crawl space and die?

I guess the bad news is mostly for Jared because he is the one forced to extract them. I told him that if he tried to mess with me AT ALL with the mice he would not get any breakfast for a looooong time.

I guess that didn't bother him though!

And no, you don't have to come over to our house!
